On the 1st April 2018 the National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rates will be increasing.
Set up in 1998, National Minimum Wage is the hourly rate that employees under the age of 25 are entitled to. This varies dependent on the age of the employee and if they are on an apprenticeship scheme.
National Living Wage is the hourly rate that all employees over the age of 25 are legally entitled to.
The New Rates Affective from April 1st 2018
Employees under the age of 18 will be paid £4.20 per hour.
Employees aged 18-20 will be paid £5.90 per hour.
Employees aged 21 – 24 will be paid £7.38 per hour.
Employees aged 25 and over will be paid £7.83 per hour.
